Description
Techniques used to simplify rational and radical expressions and to solve rational and radical equations will be covered. Prerequisite: Grade of C- or higher in Math 78E, appropriate score on the placement exam, or permission of the Mathematics Department.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Students will be able to simplify rational expressions.
  • Students will be able to solve rational equations in one variable.
  • Students will be able to simplify radical expressions.
  • Student will be able to solve radical equations in one variable.
  • Students will be able to factor quadratic type equations.
  • Students will be able to perform polynomial division.
  • Students will be able to find the natural domain of rational and radical functions.
