Description
Explores mathematical concepts that are foundational to success in algebra. Course will investigate properties of equality and examine how they can be used to solve linear equations in one variable and to solve a formula for a given variable. Prerequisite: Grade of C or higher in Math 70A, appropriate placement score on placement exam, or permission of the Mathematics Department. 
Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to solve onevariable linear equations.
Students will be able to solve a multivariable equation or formula for a given variable.
Students will be able to compute using absolute value and solve simple linear equations involving the absolute value.
Students will be able to use onevariable linear equations to model and solve problems.
Students will be able to solve onevariable linear inequalities.
