Description
Methods and materials course emphasizing knowledge and ability to apply various methods of play, as well as knowledge of developments and uses for pertinent equipment and materials. |
Intended Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate knowledge and ability to apply various methods of play
Demonstrate knowledge of developments and uses for pertinent equipment and materials.
Learn the basic skills necessary to perform the activity in which they have enrolled. (measured by skills assessment)
Develop a working knowledge of the rules, etiquette, basic strategies and appropriate behaviors associated with the activity. (measured as part of a written test)
Assess their own fitness level as it relates to the demands of that particular activity. (measured as part of a written test)
Improve fitness level through participation activity. Encourage participation in that activity outside of normal class time. (measured by attendance * make outside play opportunities available to students * make equipment check-out available)
Explain the physical and social values associated with activity participation. (measured as part of a written test)
Value physical activity and its contributions to a healthful lifestyle. (measured by written test)
