Description
This course explores the theory, knowledge and practical experience in the principles of weight training and its relationship to lifetime fitness.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Apply proper weight lifting techniques.
  • Analyze how muscular strength, size, endurance and toning can be changed through proper weight lifting techniques.
  • Identify the various muscle groups that can be affected by weight lifting.
  • Create an individualized weight training program.
  • Evaluate and assess progress and personal program goals.
  • Apply the overload principle to create progressively more challenging workouts.
  • Explain the lifetime fitness value of weight training.
  • Demonstrate safety in the weight room.
