Description
This course, located at Bluewood Recreation Area, will emphasize the safety, equipment, skills, and practice related to snow skiing and snowboarding. Students must attend orientation. Additional fee required.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Apply proper knowledge of ski/board equipment, safety, rules, and etiquette.
  • Outline the concepts associated with the Responsibility Code.
  • With instructor help, recognize the top two areas that need improvement, and employ strategies to fix those areas.
  • Demonstrate proper technique when loading and unloading from the lifts.
  • Explain lifetime fitness value of skiing or snow boarding.
  • Articulate the details of the Bluewood trail map and select trails appropriate to skill level.
