Description
This course will explore the theory, knowledge, and practical experience in the principles of tennis and its relationship to lifetime fitness.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Articulate differences in types and sizes of tennis rackets and justify the selection of the chosen racket.
  • Explain rules, etiquette, and safety, and demonstrate proper application.
  • Explain the lifetime fitness value of tennis.
  • Demonstrate footwork and body mechanics associated with the ground strokes and volley.
  • Accurately perform the overhand serve.
  • Demonstrate mastery of scoring in a game setting.
  • Employ common strategies associated with singles and doubles play.
