Description
Designed to help students attain the skills for Spanish/English language interpretation to be used in Social Service settings. Students will participate in written and oral interpretation methodologies. This course is a foundation for the preparation for the Washington State Social Service Interpreter Exam. Prerequisite: HO 189.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Cite knowledge regarding industry placement and occupational demands for Social Service Interpreters.
  • Define the primary roles and purposes of a Social Service Interpreter.
  • Demonstrate ability to render interpreted dialogues with Social Service Terminology.
  • Abide by the standards and ethics for Interpreters professional practice.
