Description
First quarter of a sequential first-year college-level French course that provides students with the basic tools of vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation, along with opportunities to develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while being exposed to the richness and diversity of the French-speaking world. Formerly FREN 101, French I.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Converse in simple everyday French;
  • Identify the present tense of regular and irregular verbs;
  • Demonstrate proficiency in communicating in interactive contexts;
  • Ability in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing;
  • Appreciate the richness of the French language and Francophone culture;
  • Translate simple stories in French.
