Description
ABE HS 21 Portfolio classes are self-paced computer classes offered in a variety of learning modalities - including face-to-face, hybrid and online. Portfolio classes are conducted using Canvas. This competency based course allows students to work at their own pace and is designed to prepare students for a successful transition to college-level courses and to develop the behaviors and values relevant to success in higher education and the labor market. Prerequisite: HS 21 Transcript Evaluation: Socre under 246 or placement in basic skills program

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Document personal, professional and education goals.
  • Identify HS 21 graduation requirements needed and create a plan to fulfill them through competency based assessments.
  • Identify resources and create a plan to access local and community support services to complete courses and programs.
  • Use computer skills/programs for academic purposes to demonstrate increase in background knowledge and skill in developing a personal portfolio.
  • Respond to feedback from instructors, advisors, and classmates to create a learning portfolio.
  • Compile evidence through reflective portfolio assessment process which documents academic growth, increased proficiency in, and knowledge of content area skills.
