Description
Based on the fundamentals of English grammar, progresses from vocabulary development to sentence-level grammatical instruction within the context of a wide range of personally relevant topics. Prerequisite: Appropriate CASAS placement score. |
Intended Learning Outcomes
Determine the purpose and audience for communication in writing
Follow a highly structured plan to organize ideas around a single familiar topic
Make simple edits of handwriting, spelling, capitalization and end punctuation based on review and feedback from others
Write simple sentences using BE verb, subject pronouns, and present tenses correctly
Identify basic parts of speech (nouns, verbs, pronouns)
Produce subject and verb agreement and use correct tense and form to produce a few sentences on a familiar topic
