Description
Literary techniques and forms and encourages writing of original works of fiction and poetry will be explored. While acknowledged writers may serve as examples of the craft of writing, the emphasis of the course lies in developing one's own unique style through various creative approaches. Formerly ENG 130.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Demonstrate creative expression in written poetry, fiction and essays.
  • Analyze self and peer criticism in the creative writing process.
  • Discuss a variety of methods to develop creativity.
  • Ability to explain the importance of the writer's "voice".
  • Idetify contemporary and classical examples of creative writing.
