Description
Examines the short stories, poetry, novels, and non-fiction that focus on our national pastime in order to determine how authors perceive the game as reflective of larger issues in American life and the human condition. Recommended: READ 088 or higher. |
Intended Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate ability of analyze literary works using appropriate literary terms and critical approaches
Read and write about the content, style, voice, impact of various literary works
Distinguish among literary styles and genres
Recognize and comment in writing and in oral discourse the ways that baseball images, characters, and qualities provide a vehicle and a medium for ideas and literary expression.
