Description
Examines short fiction from the 19th century to the present, drawn from a variety of countries and cultures. Formerly LIT 141, Intro to Fiction. |
Intended Learning Outcomes
Critical Thinking (Analysis and Synthesis): Become familiar with the basic elements that comprise the art of fictional narratives
Critical Thinking (Analysis and Synthesis): Learn to determine a story's theme from the details of the work
Critical Thinking (Evaluation): Learn to assess which elements bear the burden of a story's meaning
Communication: Be able to define and use appropriate terminology
Lifelong Learning: Reflect on how a writer's insight can be relevant to their personal lives.
