Description
Direct students in acting in assigned scenes. The student will also assist the instructor in directing assigned scenes in the current production. Formerly THEA 271.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles, terminology and tools of standard theatrical directing.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret textual material in terms of dramatic action.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret textual material in terms of design elements.
  • Apply basic directorial skills to auditions, production meetings and rehearsals.
  • Ability to run the backstage operation of an actual live theatrical performance.
  • Demonstrate effective oversight of, as well as cooperation with, all other elements of a given production.
