Description
In the third quarter of the second year of acting courses, the students will apply the techniques they have learned. Comprehensive analysis of character roles will be presented in scene work. Prerequisite: DRMA 252 or instructor permission. Formerly THEA 253. |
Intended Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate increasing creativity to exhibit a wide range of characterizations/emotions.
Ability to play against “type”.
Exhibit diminishing self-consciousness and increasing self-confidence in live performance tasks.
Demonstrate an increasing mastery of standard terminology of the acting profession.
Ability to analyze and interpret a wider variety of textual materials and theatrical genres for performance.
Demonstrate an increasing mastery of effective audition techniques.
Ability to control personal “tendencies/habits” while developing proper techniques of vocal and physical expression necessary for live performance.
Develop continuing respect and appreciation for the differing talents and abilities of other performers.
