Description
Basic skills used in costuming theatrical productions: sewing, serging, simple construction. Student may also serve on costume crew for a production. Prerequisite: Instructor permission. Formerly THEA 220.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles, terminology and tools of standard theatrical costume design.
  • Ability to interpret theatrical texts as they relate to costume considerations.
  • Ability to use research tools in the development of specific design choices.
  • Articulate well developed arguments/reasons for specific design choices.
  • Draw useful renderings of theatrical costumes.
  • Work in cooperation with the other designers/design elements of a given production.
