Description
Learn rudiments of set design using current production as lab situation. Prerequisite: Instructor permission. Formerly THEA 215.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles, terminology and tools of standard theatrical scenic design.
  • Ability to interpret theatrical texts as they relate to scenic considerations.
  • Ability to use research tools in the development of specific design choices.
  • Articulate well developed arguments/reasons for specific design choices.
  • Draw useful ground plans, elevations and perspective renderings of theatrical sets.
  • Build a scale model of a unit set.
  • Work in cooperation with the other designers/design elements of a given production.
