Description
Provides computer user with an intermediate understanding of computer hardware, the operating system, software (including word processing, spread sheeting, dataset), file management, terminology, history, usage and ethics. Recommended: CS 100 (course intended for students who need additional training before CS 110).

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Operate the Windows GUI
  • Demonstrate use of Windows Explorere for file management
  • Identify the major components of a PC
  • Application of data storage and storage devices
  • Demonstrate use of file management, and how to access and maintain files.
  • Explain historical computer development
  • Explain computer architecture and how computers work
  • Application of e-mail, Internet and networks
  • Application of ethical use of software, hardwar and the Internet
  • Understand the purpose of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
  • Critically determine which software application is best suited to particular business
  • Demonstrate proper use of various applications to accomplish business tasks
  • Demonstrate proper use of www for communication and solving business tasks
