Description
Provides computer user with an intermediate understanding of computer hardware, the operating system, software (including word processing, spread sheeting, dataset), file management, terminology, history, usage and ethics. Recommended: CS 100 (course intended for students who need additional training before CS 110). |
Intended Learning Outcomes
Operate the Windows GUI
Demonstrate use of Windows Explorere for file management
Identify the major components of a PC
Application of data storage and storage devices
Demonstrate use of file management, and how to access and maintain files.
Explain historical computer development
Explain computer architecture and how computers work
Application of e-mail, Internet and networks
Application of ethical use of software, hardwar and the Internet
Understand the purpose of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
Critically determine which software application is best suited to particular business
Demonstrate proper use of various applications to accomplish business tasks
Demonstrate proper use of www for communication and solving business tasks
