Description
Introduction to specific fields of engineering including electrical and mechanical with an emphasis on civil engineering. Also presents ethics, computer applications, and professional registration requirements.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Knowledge of different fields of engineering.
  • Knowledge of engineering ethics.
  • Set up problems using engineering formats and problem solving techniques.
  • Understanding of professional registration for engineers and surveyors.
  • Understanding of the difference between vertical and horizontal construction.
  • Understanding of the SI and gravitational system of measurements and units.
  • Knowledge of GPS survey equipment.
