WARRIORS RECEIVE 6TH PLACE TROPHY

The Walla Walla women ran out of gas on Sunday as Yakima pulled away for a 92-56 win. The Warriors were led by the 16 points of Sadie Short and Jackie Calhoun who both played their final games for WWCC. Other Sophomores playing their final game for the Warriors include Tami Lambrecht, Kendall Brenton, Brianna Eagans, and Shannell Knight.

Wall Walla concluded the 2006-07 season at 18-13.

WARRIORS CAN'T GET BY BULLDOGS

Bellevue showed why they were the #3 ranked team in the NWAACC by beating the Warriors 58-47 on Saturday night. Jennifer Deyoung scored 23 points and Marissa Bower grabbed 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs. Bellevue also caused the Warriors to turn the ball over 18 times and held Walla Walla to 32% shooting from the field. Walla Walla was led by the 19 points and 15 rebounds of Sadie Short.

Walla Walla, 18-12, will play Yakima in the 3rd/6th place game at 2:00pm on March 4th.

WARRIORS ADVANCE TO SEMI-FINALS

Walla Walla advanced to the Semi-Finals of the NWAACC tournament with a 61-46 victory over Skagit Valley. Sadie Short had 14 points and 24 rebounds and Jackie Calhoun also scored 14 to lead Walla Walla. The Warriors solid defense held Skagit Valley to only 26% shooting in the game and 0% from 3-point range.

Walla Walla, now 18-11, will take on #3 Bellevue in the Semi-Finals on March 3rd at 6:00pm

WARRIORS WIN NWAACC OPENER

The Warrior women won their opening game of the NWAACC tournament by a score of 58-47 over Clackamas. Both teams struggled mightily in the 1st half as each of them shot only 30%. The Warriors used a strong bench and excellent rebounding to pull away in the 2nd half. Katie Strunk came off the bench to score 16 points as the Warrior bench outscored the Cougars bench 32-2. Sadie Short led the Warriors in rebounding with 14 as they outrebounded Clackamas 51-29.

Walla Walla, now 17-11, will play Skagit Valley in the winner's bracket at 6:00pm on March 2nd.

WARRIORS PUNCH TICKET TO NWAACC TOURNAMENT

The Warrior women won their 6th game in a row to clinch a spot in the NWAACC tournament with a 63-52 victory over Columbia Basin. Although Walla Walla shot only 30% for the game, their defense stepped up to force 16 Hawk turnovers. The Warriors also outrebounded CBC 49-39. Brianna Eagans scored a game high 19 points and Brittanie Toone came off the bench to score 10. Sadie Sort led the Warriors with 17 rebounds and 4 assists.

Walla Walla is now 16-11 and finishes league play at 9-5. They will next play a first round game in the NWAACC Tournament at the Toyota Center in Tri-Cities, WA on March 1st.

WARRIOR WOMEN WIN 5TH IN A ROW

The Warrior women continued their late season roll with a 63-53 victory over Big Bend on Saturday night. Despite missing starters Sadie Short, illness, and Kendall Brenton, foot strain, the Warriors moved into 4th place in the Eastern Region. With a win on Wednesday versus Columbia Basin, Walla Walla will clinch a spot in the NWAACC tournament. The Warriors were led in scoring by point guard Tami Lambrecht with 16 points. Katie Strunk added 12 points and 9 rebounds. Jackie Calhoun had a fine game off the bench with 13 points by shooting 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.

Walla Walla is now 15-11 and 8-5 in the Eastern Region. They battle #6 Columbia Basin on Wednesday night at home.

WARRIORS MOVE INTO TIE FOR 4TH PLACE

Walla Walla rolled over Spokane on Wednesday night for an easy 59-35 victory that moved them into a tie with the Sasquach for 4th place in the Eastern Region. Sadie Short again led the Warriors in points, 13, and rebounds, 19. Tami Lambrecht and Brianna Eagans both contributed 11 points as the Warriors jumped to a 36-18 halftime lead and were never threatened in the 2nd.

Walla Walla is now 14-11 overall and 7-5 in the Eastern Region. They will take on Big Bend this Saturday night at home.

WARRIORS STAY IN HUNT FOR POST SEASON

The Warrior women won a huge game on the road over Wenatchee Valley 68-62 to keep their hopes alive of making the NWAACC tournament. After trailing by eight at halftime, 35-27, the Warriors shot 50% in the second half to outscore the Knights 41-27. The Warriors were dominant on the boards with a 46-34 advantage. Sadie Short led a balanced offensive attack with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Shannel Knight, AJ Hawk, and Brianna Eagans chipped in with 14, 12, and 10 points respectively.

Walla Walla is now 13-11 and 6-5 in the Eastern Region. The Warriors travel to 7-4 Spokane

on Wednesday night.

WARRIORS KNOCK OFF THE #1 RANKED TEAM IN THE NWAACC

Behind a very vocal crowd, Walla Walla defeated #1 Yakima Valley 59-53 to keep their playoff hopes alive. Sadie Short scored a game high 15 points and pulled down 15 boards in the victory. Tami Lambrecht pitch in 9 pts. The Warriors were 19-26, 73 percent from the line. Walla Walla had a great defensive effort holding Yakima to 21 first half points. Yakima shot 29.6 percent from the floor.

Walla Walla is now 12-11 and 5-5 in the Eastern Region. YVCC goes to 8-2 and 22-3.

The Warriors travel to Wenatchee Valley Saturday night.

WARRIORS WIN ON THE ROAD

Walla Walla, with the help of 25 points from Sadie Short, defeated Blue Mountain 82-51 on the road Saturday night. With the win, the Warriors snap a 4 game losing streak and remain in the playoff hunt. Walla Walla shot 32-for-64, 50 percent, overall. Short pulled down 12 defensive boards and was 12-17 from the field. Kendall Brenton and Brianna Eagans put in 13 and 10 pts. respectively.

Walla Walla is now 11-11 and 4-5 in the Eastern Region. BMCC goes to 2-20 and 0-9.

The Warriors host #1 ranked Yakima Valley Wednesday night.

WARRIORS SUFFER ANOTHER TOUGH LOSS

Walla Walla got 13 points from Brianna Eagans and 11 points from Sadie Short but it wasn't enough. Treasure Valley sank a pair of free throws with 9 seconds left to capture the victory. WWCC had one last shot in the closing seconds but couldn't convert.

Walla Walla is now 10-11 and 3-5 in the Eastern Region. TVCC goes to 8-15 and 3-5.

The Warriors travel to Blue Mountain next Saturday.

WARRIORS SKID CONTINUES

Walla Walla continued it's skid with a tough Easternn Region loss at Columbia Basin. The Warriors had a great defensive game but only shot 12-47 ( 26 percent) from the field. Walla Walla looks to get back on track when they travel to Treasure Valley this Saturday night.

Walla Walla is now 10-10 and 3-4 in the Eastern Region. CBC goes to 15-5 and 6-1.

The Warriors travel to Treasure Valley Saturday night.

WARRIORS LOSE ON THE ROAD

Wall Walla left Moses Lake with a tough loss to Big Bend 56-51. Tami Lambrecht scored a game high of 12 points to pace the Warriors. The Warriors drop to 3-3 in Eastern Region play tied with Spokane for 4th place.

Walla Walla is now 10-9 and 3-3 in the Eastern Region. Big Bend goes to 2-4.

The Warriors travel to Columbia Basin Wednesday night.

WARRIORS SUFFER SET BACK

Walla Walla suffered a setback Wednesday night against Spokane 59-54. Sadie Short scored a game high 12 points and pulled in 10 rebounds. Brittanie Toone chipped in 10 points and grabbed 5 boards. Brianna Eagans and AJ Hawk scored 9 & 7 points. Walla Walla looks to get back on track Saturday night when they travel to Big Bend.

Walla Walla is now 10-8 and 3-2 in the Eastern Region. Spokane goes to 3-2.

WARRIORS PULL INTO 4 WAY TIE FOR 1ST PLACE

Walla Walla pulled into a four way tie for first place after defeating Wenatchee Valley 59-54. Sadie Short again paced the warriors with 15 points. Kendall Brenton added 12 points. Brianna Eagans sank a three point basket with 30 seconds left to break a tie and seal the victory for the Warriors.

Walla Walla improves to 3-1. Wenatchee is now 3-1.

The Warriors are now 10-7 on the season and play at home Wednesday night v Spokane.

WARRIORS DROP ONE ON THE ROAD

at Yakima Valley 61, Walla Walla 56
The Yaks kept pace with Wenatchee Valley with their win over Walla Walla Wednesday night. Walla Walla had the lead in this game for the first ten minutes of the first half, going as high as nine points. With the score 5-14, Yakima Valley woke up and went on a 25-9 run to take seven point lead with three minutes left. From there, Yakima Valley controlled the game to the end. Yakima Valley received distributed scorers amongst their team that was led by Shante Nance-Johnson with 11. Walla Walla was led by Sadie Short with 28 points and 10 rebounds.

Yakima Valley improves to 3-0. Walla Walla is 2-1.

The Warriors are now 9W-7L on the season and play at home Saturday night v Wenatchee. Start time is 6:00pm.

Warriors Win Pair at Home

Walla Walla Community College swept through a pair of contests at the Warrior Invitational this past weekend. On Friday, Walla Walla handed Seattle CC a 67-44 setback while on Saturday, the Warriors cruised past Mt. Hood 72-51.

The Warriors are now 5W-2L on the season and play at home against Salish KJootenai College on Tuesday evening at 6:00pm.

Warriors Split on Road

Walla Walla Community College split a tough road swing through Western Washington over the weekend. On Saturday, Highline handed the Warriors a 70-55 setback while on Sunday, Walla Walla rebounded with a 63-57 win at Seattle CC.

The Warriors, now 3W-2L in non-league action, return to action this coming weekend as they host the Warrior Invitational Tournament. On Friday, Walla Walla will host Seattle CC at 7:00pm while Treasure Valley and Mt. Hood do battle in a 5:00pm contest. On Saturday, the Chukars will face the Storm at 5:00pm while the Warriors see action at 7:00pm against Mt. Hood.

Warriors Finish Eastern Kickoff With Pair of Wins

Walla Walla didn't get the opening result hoped for but rebounded with a pair of emphatic victories at the Eastern Region Kickoff held in Wenatchee, WA, over the past weekend. Walla Walla opened with a 56-48 loss to Columbia Basin before smashing Blue Mountain 73-41. The Warriors concluded tournament play with a 56-33 win against Big Bend on Sunday.

The Warriors take a short break for Thanksgiving before hitting the road for a pair of away games. Walla Walla travels to Highline on Saturday, December 2nd for a 5:00pm start before finishing the road trip with a contest at Seattle the following day. Tip time at Seattle CC is at 2:00pm.
