WARRIORS FINISH IN 6TH PLACE

The Warrior men lost on Sunday 87-78 to Pierce to bring home the 6th place trophy. Walla Walla was led by the 28 points of Travis Noble as he shot 6-9 from beyond the arc. Curtis Carlson added 26 points and Beau Blewett grabbed 10 rebounds. Sophomores playing their final game for Walla Walla include Travis Noble, Curtis Carlson, Jake Burns, Bryan Tollbom, Ryan Turnbow, and Zach Crimm.

The Warriors finished the 2006-07 season with a 25-6 record and won their 1st Eastern Division title since 1992-93.

WARRIORS CAN'T STOP COUGARS

The Warrior men lost in the Semi-Finals against the #1 Clackamas Cougars on Saturday night 75-65. Despite another excellent performance from Curtis Carlson, 34 points and 11 rebounds, Walla Walla shot on 36% from the field to come up short. 6'10" Brian Freemen led Clackamas with 36 points and 18 rebounds as they held the lead the whole 2nd half. Clackamas was able to use their height advantage to score 18 second chance points.

Walla Walla, now 25-5, will take on Pierce in the 3rd/6th place game at 2:00pm on March 4th.

WARRIORS WIN IN OT, ADVANCE TO SEMI-FINALS

The Walla Walla men needed an extra 5 minutes to get a victory over Whatcom 80-78 on Friday night. Whatcom held a decisive advantage on the boards as they outrebounded the Warriors 56-26 but they were not able to use that advantage to get the win. They were led by the 25 points and 14 rebounds of Ryan Christensen. Bryan Tolbom had a huge night for Walla Walla as he scored 25 points on 5 of 6 from 3-point range. Curtis Carlson also had a big game with 28 points and 13 rebounds.

Walla Walla, now 25-4, will play in the Semi-Finals against #1 Clackamas on March 3rd at 8:00pm.

WARRIORS WIN NWAACC OPENER

The Warrior men had a rough 1st half of their NWAACC tournament opening game against Chemeketa by shooting only 40% and trailing 49-31 at the break. However, Walla Walla battled back and outscored the Storm 68-39 in the 2nd half to advance in the winner's bracket with a 99-88 victory. Curtis Carlson, Travis Noble, and Jake Burns all had big games as they tallied 28, 26, and 25 points, respectively. Carlson led the Warriors with 17 rebounds and Noble had his most assists in one game on the year with 10.

Walla Walla, now 24-4, advances in the winner's bracket to play Whatcom at 8:00pm on March 2nd.

WARRIORS AVENGE ONLY LEAGUE LOSS

The Warrior men avenged their lone Eastern Division loss of the season with an 89-81 victory over Columbia Basin. The win set a new school record for wins in a season at 23. Curtis Carlson had an unstoppable performance, scoring 31 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Walla Walla did not have one of their strongest shooting nights, however their defense forced 17 CBC turnovers and only 46% shooting in the 2nd half. Travis Noble and Jake Burns added 20 and 15 points, respectively.

Walla Walla is now 23-4 and finishes Eastern Division play at 13-1. They will next play in the NWAACC Tournament on March 1st at the Toyota Center in Tri-Cities, WA. They will take the East's #1 seed into the tournament.

WARRIORS CLINCH EASTERN REGION TITLE

#3 Walla Walla clinched the NWAACC Eastern Region for the first time since the 1992-93 season with a 90-74 victory over Big Bend on Saturday night. The Warriors shot 63% (17-27) in the 2nd half to take control of a game that was closer than the final score indicated. Curtis Carlson had another strong performance with 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Travis Noble added 24 points on 5 of 7 shooting from down town. Zach Crimm had his finest game of the year by scoring 14 points, grabbing 5 boards, and having 2 steals.

Walla Walla is now 22-4 and 12-1 in the Eastern Region. They have clinched the #1 seed to the NWAACC tournament that starts on March 1st. They take on Columbia Basin on Wednesday night at home.

WARRIORS WIN CLOSE ONE ON THE ROAD

The Warrior men kept control of the Eastern Region with a 76-74 victory over Spokane. The Warriors had a balanced offensive attack as 4 of them scored in double figures. Curtis Carlson had 24, Mark Minarik 18, Travis Noble 16, and Jake Burns 13. Walla Walla continued their hot shooting from the outside as they made 16 out of 29 attempts from 3-point range.

Walla Walla is now 21-4 overall and 11-1 in the Eastern Region. They will take on 9-3 Big Bend on Saturday at home. With a win, the Warriors will clinch the Eastern Region Title.

STROND 2ND HALF GIVES WARRIORS 4TH STRAIGHT WIN

The 3rd ranked Walla Walla men continued the domination of their NWAACC Eastern Region opponents with a 90-69 victory over Wenatchee Valley. The Warriors outscored the Knights 53-30 on 62% shooting in the 2nd half on their way to the win. Travis Noble led all scorers with 24 points on 6-10 shooting from beyond the 3 point arc. Curtis Carlson had another double-double as he finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a team the Warriors shot 56% (14-25) from 3-point range.

Walla Walla is now 20-4 on the season and in sole possesion of 1st place in the Eastern Region at 10-1. The Warriors travel to Spokane on Wednesday night.

WARRIORS HOLD OFF YAKS

# 3 Walla Walla defeated Yakima Valley 106-95. The Warriors lead at half 52-37. The Warriors had five players in double figures lead by Bryan Tollbom with a team high of 22. Zach Crimm came off the bench to add 12 pts. The Warriors shot 56.1 percent from the floor, 37-66 and shot 37 percent from behind the arch. With the win, Walla Walla stays in 1st place.

Walla Walla is now 19-4 on the season and 9-1 in the Eastern Region. The Warriors travel to Wenatchee Valley Saturday night.

WARRIOR MEN CONTINUE TO ROLL

Walla Walla, the #3 ranked team in the NWAACC, continued its winning ways with a 82-70 win at Blue Mountain. Curtis Carlson lead all scorers with 28 points. With the win, the Warriors stay in 1st place in the tough Eastern Region. The Warriors finished the game shooting 54.4 percent from the field. Jake Burns put in 15 pts. while Bryan Tollbom added 11pts.

Walla Walla is now 18-4 on the season and 8-1 in the Eastern Region. The Warriors will host Yakima Valley Wednesday night.

Curtis Carlson, Walla Walla
Curtis is a sophomore guard from McGloughlin High School. He led the Warriors in huge wins over Spokane and Big Bend last week. Against an undefeated Big Bend team, Carlson scored 25 points, had eight rebounds and four assists. Walla Walla's Head Coach Jeff Reinland describes Carlson as "a great overall kid who is really humble. He gets the job done and lets his play do the talking." In the Eastern Region, Carlson is tied for the lead in scoring (23.2 ppg) and is third in rebounding (9.0 rpg).

WARRIORS WIN AGAIN

Walla Walla continued its hold on 1st place with a convincing win on the road at Treasure Valley 91-78. WWCC shot 54 percent from the field (34-63) including 55.6 percent from 3-point arc. Curtis Carson scored a game high 23 points and Travis Noble put in 22 points. Mark Minarik and Bryan Tollbom had 17 and 15 points.

Walla Walla is now 17-4 on the season and 7-1 in the Eastern Region. The Warriors will travel to Blue Mountain next Saturday.

WARRIORS LOSE TOUGH GAME AT CBC

Walla Walla remained in 1st place still after a tough Eastern Region loss at CBC. Walla Walla, after trailing by as much as 10 points most of the game, got to within two with 10:54 left in the game. Columbia Basin went on a 6-0 run and the Warriors couldn't counter. Mark Minarik led the Warriors with 22 points.

Walla Walla is now 16-4 on the season and 6-1 in the Eastern Region. The Warriors will be on the road Saturday night to play Treasure Valley.

WARRIORS CLAIM SOLE POSSESION OF 1ST PLACE

Walla Walla claimed sole possession of 1st place by beating Beg Bend 86-74 on the road. Both teams entered the game undefeated in Eastern Region play. Curtis Carlson paced the the Warriors with 25 points. Travis Noble added 17 pts and Mark Minarick scored 15 pts. Walla Walla now travels to Columbia Basin Wednesday night to complete the first half of Eastern Region play. CBC will enter the game with a record of 4-2 in the East and 16-3 over all. CBC is ranked # 1 in the NWAACC.

Walla Walla is now 16-3 on the season and 6-0 in the Eastern Region.

WARRIORS STILL UNBEATEN IN LEAGUE

Walla Walla remains unbeaten in Eastern Region play after a win against Spokane. Walla Walla downed Spokane 78-68. Curtis Carlson scored a game high 29 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Carlson was also 8-10 from the line. Travis Noble pitched in 14 points. The Warriors now travel to Big Bend Saturday night. The Warriors and Vikings are both on top of the Eastern Region with 5-0 records.

Walla Walla is now 15-3 on the season and 5-0 in the Eastern Region. The Warriors will be on the road Saturday night to play Big Bend.

WARRIORS REMAIN ON TOP

Walla Walla remained tied for 1st place with a victory over visiting Wenatchee Valley. The Warrior had great play from Curtis Carlson and Bryan Tollbom. Carlson scored a game high 24 points and Tollbom added 18 down in the paint. The Warriors also received good games from Travis Noble who scored 19 pts and Jake burns who chipped in 17pts. Carlson also sank 10/12 free throws and had 10 rebounds.

Walla Walla is now 14-3 on the season and 4-0 in the Eastern Region. The Warriors will be at home Wednesday to play Spokane.

WARRIORS STAY ON TOP WITH WIN

Walla Walla won on the road at Yakima Valley Wednesday night. The Warriors stay on top of the Eastern Region with a 3-0 record tied with Columbia Basin. Curtis Carlson scored 22 pts for the Warrior Men and Bryan Tolbom added 13 pts. Jeff Decker and Travis Noble added 12 & 11 pts.

Walla Walla is now 13W-3L on the season and returns home to play Wenatchee on Saturday. Start time is at 8:00pm in the Dome.

Warriors Sweep Through Vikes Invitational

Walla Walla won a pair of games at the Runnin' Vikes Invitational in Moses Lake on the weekend. On Friday, Walla Walla got by the Blue Angels, an all-star team of former college players, 110-98 in overtime. The Warriors turned in a 103-77 win on Saturday against Salish Kootenai College of Montana to complete the weekend series.

Walla Walla is now 6W-1L on the season and returns home to play Salish Kootenai on Tuesday. Start time is at 8:00pm in the Dome.

Warriors Take Pair at Invite

Walla Walla Community College won a pair of contests at the Warrior Invitational this past weekend to run their early season record to 4W-1L. On Friday, Walla Walla dismantled Linfield JV by an 84-46 margin. Big Bend won 95-85 against Mt. Hood in the other contest.

On Saturday, Walla Walla handed Mt. Hood an 86-78 setback while the Vikes hammered Linfield JV 107-65.

The Warriors return to action this coming weekend when they travel to Moses Lake, WA, for the Runnin' Vikes Invitational. On Friday, Walla Walla faces Salish Kootenai College at 4:00pm while on Saturday the Warriors will play the Blue Angels in a 12:00pm encounter.

Warriors Second at Eastern Kickoff

Walla Walla took him second position in the Eastern Region Kickoff Tournament held in Moses Lake, WA, Friday through Sunday of this past weekend. Walla Walla advanced to the semifinal with a tough opening round win on Friday against Columbia Basin 83-80. Walla Walla got by Spokane in the semifinal 91-86 before falling to host Big Bend 112-94 in the final.

Walla Walla returns to action after a brief break for Thanksgiving. The Warrior Classic is slated for Walla Walla on December 1st and 2nd. The Warriors open play with a contest against Linfield JV on December 1st before finishing tournament action with a game against Mt. Hood on Saturday evening. Tip time on Friday is at 8:00pm.
