Preparation for Success

Students seeking a modern language major should take a broad range of courses that include writing and comprehension, both in English and in at least one other modern language. Competence in word-processing is very important. Other helpful pursuits include spending time abroad, engaging in comparable forms of direct contact with non-English speaking cultures, and reading extensively on a variety of subjects in English and at least one other language.
