This degree is for students planning to major in secondary math education at a baccalaureate institution. It is a statewide transfer agreement for secondary math education majors between the community colleges and public baccalaureate institutions in the state of Washington. This Direct Transfer Agreement (DTA) will fulfill the general education requirements at the public Washington state baccalaureate institutions. Students must earn a cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.0. Please note that higher GPA's are often required for admission to math education programs. It is strongly recommended that students contact the baccalaureate granting education school early in their Associate in Math Education - DTA program to be advised about additional requirements and procedures for admission. Students must take the WEST in order to apply to teacher preparation programs in Washington State.
