Mission

As part of the Performing, Visual and Communication Arts Division, the Art Department shares the mission of the other performing and communication arts: to inspire students to discover their potential and to achieve their goals in speech communications, fine arts, drama, and music by providing a wide variety of guided presentation and performance opportunities, a nurturing and challenging atmosphere, and challenging standards of instruction aimed especially for small groups and individuals.

Program Outcomes

• An aesthetic and intellectual comprehension of culturally and linguistically diverse works in literature, philosophy, visual and performing arts, including film and music.
• An understanding and working knowledge of terminology commonly used in the humanities.
• An appropriate level of creativity, discipline, and technique in the production of assigned work in the humanities.
