Description
Instruction in advanced topics of GIS. Emphasis includes geo-spatial analysis, creation and use of geo-databases, geo-coding, geo-referencing, digital elevation models, and Lidar technology using ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop software. Prerequisite: ENT 161 and ENGR& 111 or instructor permission. Formerly CET 251

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Demonstrate the ability to import and modify data sets
  • Show proficiency in the use of coordinate systems
  • Create and use geo databases
  • Create new shapefiles and edit existing shapefiles
  • Demonstrate the ability to geo-code addresses and geo-reference photographs
  • Build models for redundant geo-spacial analysis processes
  • Demonstrate the ability to visually display complex geographic data
