Clarkston and Lewiston Phone Call Tips

Want to save some time and money on college phone calls between Clarkston/Lewiston and Walla Walla?  It?s EASY!  And you don?t need to know your scan number!!!!

From Walla Walla Campus to Clarkston (and Lewiston):

• To call a Clarkston campus phone, you just dial it as a 758-xxxx number (except for the main number, you have to dial 758-9-758-3339).
   
• To call an off-campus number, simply dial 758 and then 9 for an outside line.  Now you can dial a 7-digit Clarkston number or 7-digit Lewiston number (no area code needed).

From Clarkston Campus to Clarkston/Lewiston:

• Dial 9 for an outside line.  Now you can dial a 7-digit Clarkston number or 7-digit Lewiston number (no area code needed).

From Clarkston Campus to Walla Walla:

• To call a Walla Walla campus phone, dial 8, followed by the 4-digit extension
   
• To call an off-campus number, simply dial 8 and then 9 for an outside line.  Now you can dial a 7-digit Walla Walla (and vicinity) number

Regarding toll-free numbers: you never need to use a Scan number for toll-free numbers, even on fax machines!  Simply dial "9" for an outside line, then "1" followed by your 10-digit toll-free number (800), (888), (877) or (866).

Each of you made at least one phonecall to either Clarkston and/or Lewiston using your Scan number during the month of August. Altogether, there were over a few hundred calls made that could have been free calls, but because they were made as a long distance call using a Scan number, the college paid for them.

One other thing to consider: it’s so much easier to place your call as a local call than to use your Scan number!

Below is a list of prefixes and the instructions for calling between Walla Walla and Clarkston/Lewiston.

The following are the prefixes for Clarkston and Lewiston. If you like, you could put them close to your phone. From Walla Walla, you get to Clarkston by dialing “758”, then “9” for an outside line, and finally dial the 7-digit number starting with the prefix listed below (no area code needed for Lewiston numbers!). If you are in Clarkston, just dial “9” for an outside line followed by your 7-digit number.
