Walla Walla Community College has received a grant from the Washington Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development to study the impact of the Walla Walla wine industry cluster on the local economy. 

The wine industry cluster includes vineyards, production facilities, and local equipment, machinery, and supply services in Walla Walla County, Columbia County, and the Northern portion of Umatilla County.  The focus of this project is to study and determine the impact of these interconnected industries on the Walla Walla Valley.  This project also seeks to examine how the wine cluster is connected to other local clusters such as arts, food, and tourism.

The end objective of this project is to work with the wine industry and our regional partners to identify policies and mechanisms that can promote economic development and address wine industry issues in the Walla Walla area.
